Feedstock
Post-consumer mixed flexible packaging
This plant accepts post-consumer mixed flexible packaging from kerbside collections, MRFs and supermarket take-back schemes. Feedstock includes mono-layer and multi-layer films that are typically exported or incinerated.
Process
BOSS-2D water-based density separation
BOSS-2D separates mixed flexible plastics by exploiting density differences in water using oscillating baffles. The first pass through BOSS-2D allows the mono-layer film to float while multi-layer film is driven downward through the system. The mono-layer output is furin a second BOSS tank to produce independent LDPE and PP streams suitable for compounding with PRE additive to regulate melt flow rate for film moulding applications.
Output
LDPE & PP recycled film pellet
The plant produces LDPE & PP recycled film pellet suitable for consumer-grade packaging and postal liners. Multi-layer output is separated for chemical recycling or alternative industrial feedstock applications.
